Acceptable Use Policy
This policy governs what you may do with the Karakalpakvoice API and console. It applies to everyone with an account or an API key. Breaking it is grounds for suspending your key or closing your account, and we will do that without a refund where the breach is serious.
1. Voice cloning requires consent
You may only clone a voice that is your own, or one you have documented permission to use.
Using someone's voice without their informed, specific permission is prohibited — whatever the purpose, and whether or not the output is labelled as synthetic.
"Documented" means something you could show us if asked: a signed release, a written agreement, a recorded statement from the speaker. A clip you found online is not permission. Neither is a clip of a public figure, however public.
What permission has to cover
- That their voice will be synthesised by a computer, not merely recorded.
- What it will be used for, specifically enough that they could object.
- How long you may use it, and how they can withdraw.
If you are cloning on behalf of a client, the obligation is yours: you must hold the permission, not assume your client does.
Voices you may never clone
- Anyone who has not given permission, including public figures and the deceased.
- Children, unless you hold a guardian's documented permission.
- Anyone whose permission you obtained by misrepresenting what the voice would be used for.
2. Prohibited uses
Regardless of whose voice it is, you may not use this service to:
- Impersonate a real person or organisation — including synthetic audio presented as a genuine recording of someone.
- Defraud anyone: voice phishing, fake authorisation for a payment or transfer, impersonating a bank, an official body or a relative in distress.
- Bypass voice authentication — any system that uses a voice as an identity check.
- Harass, defame or sexualise a person, or put words in their mouth that would damage them.
- Mislead about elections or public safety, or spread audio designed to be mistaken for a real statement by a real person.
- Break the law of Uzbekistan or of the country you or your users are in.
3. Label synthetic audio
Where a listener could reasonably take the output for a recording of a real person, say that it is synthetic. This matters most for cloned voices, news-style content, and anything in a customer-service or official context.
4. What we can and cannot see
We do not retain the text you send or the audio you upload — see the Privacy Policy. That means we generally cannot detect a breach of this policy by inspecting your traffic, and we do not try to. Compliance rests with you.
What we do keep is account-level metering: how many requests and characters, when, and from which key. If we receive a credible report, that record is what we investigate with, alongside anything the reporter provides.
5. Reporting a violation
If you believe a voice has been cloned without permission — including your own — write to diyarbekdev@gmail.com. Tell us what you heard, where, and why you believe it is synthetic or unauthorised. We will investigate and, where a breach is established, suspend the account responsible.
If the voice is yours, say so and we will prioritise it. You do not need a lawyer to make that report.
6. Enforcement
We may suspend a key or an account immediately where we believe there is ongoing harm, and investigate afterwards. For less serious or ambiguous cases we will contact you first. Credits are not refunded for accounts closed for a serious breach.
